Falmouth City HallFALMOUTH

Pendleton County has two major rivers, the main Licking and the South Licking. Falmouth, the county’s largest city and county seat, is located where these two rivers meet, about 39 miles south of Cincinnati.  Falmouth was established in 1793.  The name Falmouth was chosen by Virginians who came from Falmouth, Stafford County, Virginia. Falmouth has a population of approximately 2,500 residents. The mayor of Falmouth is April DeFalco who presides over council meetings at 7 PM every third Thursday of each month. Butler City HallBUTLER

The City of Butler is located 8 miles north of Falmouth, also near the Licking River. The name Butler was chosen in honor of W.D. Butler, a member of Congress from this district. This city once boasted the longest wooden covered bridge in Kentucky. Butler was founded in 1868. Today, Butler is a quiet community with 625 residents. The mayor of Butler is Delbert Reid who presides over council meetings at 7 PM the first Monday of the month.
