Public Notice to All Pendleton County Veterans and Families

The Pendleton County Fiscal Court, with assistance from Cheri Figgins and Donna Campbell (the Pendleton Library Director and staff person) and the American Legion Post 109 Ladies Auxiliary, have compiled the names taken from the Bronze Plaques and the Aluminum Monuments at the Old Courthouse Veterans Park and have placed them in a data base. Some of the names from the Aluminum Monuments are unreadable and perhaps some are misspelled.

We are also aware of the fact that many names on the Bronze Plaques are misspelled. There may be veterans from Pendleton County and those associated with Pendleton County who are not on either of the lists.

A total list of names will be available for viewing at the old courthouse (Judge’s Office, Main St.), American Legion Post 109 and/or the Pendleton County Library over the next several months. You may also click here to see the List of Veteran's Names (PDF-1882).

If you served in the military, presently serve or are a family member or friend of a veteran, please review the data base list of names mentioned above for missing names and/or misspellings. If either is found, you may correct spellings and/or add names to the list at the Old Pendleton County Courthouse (Judge’s Office), Pendleton County Library or the American Legion Post 109.

The database is for viewing only and is not available for correcting or updating. Any corrections and/or additions must be done at the above mentioned locations or by clicking here.

In the near future, the fiscal court, along with other organizations and businesses, will be taking on the task of upgrading the Old Courthouse Veterans Park and adding missing names to a new bronze plaque and correcting misspellings on the existing plaques.

The final list of veterans will be made a part of public record kept in the county clerk’s office and also available in the Pendleton County Library for public review.
